Laila Ollapally has been an advocate for over 25 years in the High Court of Karnataka and Supreme Court of India. She is the founding co-ordinator of the Bangalore Mediation Centre (BMC) and has been a Mediator since 2007. She was a Member of the Sub-Committee constituted by the Supreme Court of India to prepare the National Mediation Training Manual and also co-authored the Bangalore Mediation Centre Training Manual.

Mrs. Ollapally is the founder of the Centre for Advanced Mediation Practice, a pioneering institution that provides private mediation services.

She is on the Advisory Board of Foundation for Sustainable Rule of Law Initiatives (FSRI), San Francisco, California. Mrs. Ollapally is on the panel of Mediators of the Singapore International Mediation Centre (SIMC).
